Executive Director's Letter: The annual conference is coming fast

We are less than 40 days away from our conference. As a trade association, the month before the conference is like most school photography companies October, every minute counts and there is not enough time in the day.

This year's conference is 99% set and we are so excited about the quality of training, trainers, speakers, and events. And to top it all off, we will be capping the entire event off with another world-class industry awards banquet that will feature the first-ever industry Hall of Fame induction ceremony. This will be an event you will not want to miss.

The hotel is getting very close to capacity and space is limited. So if you have not purchased your tickets and hotel rooms, you better do so soon. We have reserved rooms at a brand new SpringHill Suites just two blocks down in case we fill up in the next two weeks.

We are firming up details on our 2024 conference and our 2025 conference and will be announcing those dates and locations in Greenville this July. What we can tell you is 2024 is the same week, just after the 4th of July week, and 2025 and 2026 will be the last weeks of June, just before the week of the 4th of July, and will most likely stay that way moving forward.

This year's conference will have members electing new Governing Board members and new Executive Board members. We will actually be hosting a recorded Zoom with the candidates allowing them to explain why they are running and what they would like to accomplish in their time if elected. This recording along with their bio and information will allow each member company to have a solid understanding of who each candidate is and give them the information they need to vote.

We had a record number of photographic entries this year. The judges are in the final round of voting and we should be making announcements of finalists later this week or the beginning of next. We are very excited as there are some incredible entries this year.

Here are a few links that everyone should have:

To attend, sponsor, or exhibit at the conference -

To nominate or submit entries for industry awards -

To join SPOA -

To find industry suppliers for your business -

Best wishes,

David Crandall,

Executive Director, SPOA
