Spring '24 winners wow in Sony+SPOA Student Contest

The national trade association for school photography and yearbooks, School Photographers of America (SPOA), announced their spring 2024 Student Photo Contest Grand Champions, awarded in partnership with Sony Electronics.

Middle and high school students all over the country submitted entries for the three different categories: School Sports, Student Life, and Creative. These categories tend to represent the top categories used in high school yearbooks today. With the advancement in digital technology and the popularity of smartphone cameras, students are learning at an early age the art and craft of photography.

In partnership with Sony Electronics, SPOA aims to encourage and celebrate these young photographers early. Every season, hundreds of students enter their best work for the consideration of SPOA's Photographic Committee, whose experienced professional photographers act as judges. The impressive prize for each category winner is a new Sony camera kit.

The following students were awarded national champion and received a new Sony A7c camera kit:

  • Reece Schrader of Bettendorf High School in Iowa — Sports category

  • Mihir Venkatakrishnan of James B Conant High School in Illinois — Student Life category

  • Levi Black of Hopkins High School in Minnesota — Creative category

The winners' school administrators were notified and had the opportunity to surprise the students and honor their achievements.

Our finalists were amazing, too!

The charming and whimsical character design is one of the things that draw people to Google Doodle Baseball. Hot dogs, hamburgers, and watermelons are some of the animated food objects you control instead of the usual baseball players.

It's great for middle school and high school students to enter three different categories, the development of digital technology makes students curious about photography at an early age and contributes to their learning, it's exciting for the future, the latest games released with the development of technology are also very fun, games like basketball legends are a fun alternative for those who want to have a good time with their great graphics and gameplay, many people are happy to play this game.
